Training wasn‘t just about building ones body. It is never just about exhausting oneself to the very limit, even if that helped a lot in the growth of a warrior. Learning to utilize your strength was just as important, if not the most important aspect, and for that, practical application was needed. Such was the thought of the ever strength seeking tigress when she decided, today was such a day. Her confident gait carried her tall frame into the building. Her jacket, hanging from her shoulders, waving from side to side in the light breeze on this autumn afternoon.

Vlithra was geared for combat. Her armored boots gave her steps a lot more weight as she marched down the hallway. Her outfit was clean and well kept as ever, despite her jacket getting caught on a twig during the class they had with Professor Honeydew in the forest the other week. In hindsight, it was almost a wonder that her outfit was never damaged in any other way since coming to Beacon. The thought was dismissed with a ‘Hmm‘, it was trouble off her back anyway if most of the other student couldn‘t manage against her.

Vlithra‘s weapons clattered against each other ever so slightly with each step she took, building a sort of suspense that was reflected by how the tigress had felt in recent days. Something seemed to bother her. But what? Was it some grudge she had actually forgotten about? Or was it that she has yet to ever use dust in combat since coming to Beacon?
The dust pouch hanging off her hip did contain one-off charges of the various types of dust she used, but they have practically never been used. It seemed that one graduate huntsman from half a year ago was right with what he said after all, it was her strengths that counted and not the gadgets she brought to the table, even if those helped in a few selected situations. But maybe, just maybe… she should get more proficient using it. Lost in her thoughts once after a long time, Vlithra practically stalked through the hallways of the training building, either to find an empty holo-room she could use, or to find a suitable training partner for today.

The sound of roaring could be heard throughout the many hallways as the hologram of an Ursa Major rose up menacingly into the air and on its hind legs, trying it's best to intimidate the small masked figure that was standing in front of it.
Al was doing some more after class training, as was normal for her, she did take her training regiment very seriously, and it was of course very nice getting her head free of all the bundled up info that the professors unloaded on her day to day.
The Ursa then shifted his position forward, slamming one of his claws into the ground and using its full weight to do so, as Al herself quickly stepped to the side, in a more casual movement than necessary as taunting the replica of an already mindless beast had no point to it, but she did it anyway.

Then with a glare in her eyes and an explosive burst of fire coming from her heel, Al axe kicked the claw into the ground, breaking bone and burying the now mangled appendage into the concrete.
Because it did not have the strength in its broken limb to pull it out or keep its balance, the beast fell, right on its snout that it had lunged forward with to bite the student.
Al stood over it, the weapons clicking in her hands to go from axes to guns as the Ursa's face was then impaled by a hail of bullets.

Al sighed, that was a good warm up, she grabbed her bottle of water and pulled her mask up for a quick swig before then addressing the spectator.
"Heya Vlithra, enjoying the show ?"
Al had heard her coming, as the sound of the heavy footsteps and weapons being carried around loosely was a thing only a few people did, most of which wore their jackets properly, also based on the fact that much like her Vlithra was a frequent visitor of the training room. So Al's sensitive ears could figure out who it was....well it was till at least partially a guess, so it would be awkward if she guessed wrong, especially as she now turned to who ever it is with a big grin.
Oh good, it is Vlithra.

She pulled her mask back down, putting the water bottle back into her bag as she approached her visitor.
"Sorry but I'm gonna be practicing here for just a little longer, we could share though."
She offered, hoping to be friendly towards the tiger, she did look a little antsy.

The gnawing feeling was unrelenting, it started to annoy the tigress as she walked through the halls. Only when she heard the distinct roar of a hologram Ursa, she looked up to the source of the sound, a holo-room currently in use. And what were those luminescent green eyes seeing through the door? A fiery wolf faunus with a face, or rather, non-face that the tigress couldn‘t help but recognize. It was Al, and she was laying into the projected Ursa Major with no issue as Vlithra finally remembered what was bothering her. How could she forget that chicken game ending in a tie? She wasn‘t satisfied with scoring a tie, and the feeling had been lingering since. Unlike back then, Vlithra was in peak condition. So this was the perfact chance for a rematch.

Vlithra entered the hall just as Al delivered the killing blow on the projected grimm, bullets sinking into the creaters head with relentless speed. It doesn‘t take long for Al to notice the tigress. The clever girl knew who entered without even looking, it brought an amused smile to Vlithra‘s face. The ex-criminal was almost dissapointed by what the wolf faunus said. Almost though, because at the end she offered to share the room with the tigress.

“About that.“ Vlithra replied as she moved towards Al while rolling her shoulder. “While holograms are fine and all, I‘m not really too keen on them.“ She paused for a moment, now rolling her other shoulder to get her muscles slowly going.
“How about a one on one match instead? That should be more interesting, right? A no holds barred match, until either of our Auras break.“
The easger tigress extended a hand as if she wanted to shake on it.
“What do you say? Are you up for it?“
Vlithra was practically trying her hardest to not look too eager.

Al was just putting her bottle back in her bottle, when she finally took a proper look at Vlithra, well, she seemed kinda different today, maybe it was her weapons ?
Those did look pretty imposing, two big swords, both being way larger than her axes or revolvers, they were gorgeous too, Al kinda wanted to ask Vlithra if she could swing them around for a little, but she wasn't sure how happy the tigress would be about her asking that, she did seem kinda reserved regarding her things, something Al could relate too, so she stowed it for later.
But, what really seemed different was that the usually calm and cool tigress seemed anxious,
Should she ask about that ?
Nah, that sounded like a death sentence, so she left it be.

Then Al's ears perked up in surprise at what Vlithra said, forming two noticeable bumps in her hood.
OH!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
Now she got it, but Al could not help herself and giggle.
Was she really that upset over tying the chicken game ?
Eh, Al could understand, had Vlithra outdone her in a grilling competition she'd have been annoyed too.
With another chuckle she opened her revolvers, the magazines being empty Al casually and slowly began to reload them both.
"A no holds barred one on one, eh ?"
Al flipped her revolvers, closing both the magazines, and used one to tap her chin playfully.

She walked over to Vlithra, looking her up and down, Al really just wanted to unwind and get all the happenings of the day out of her head, but she could relate to Vlithra's feelings, denying the tigress would feel wrong and unlike a certain sailor, Al felt that it was okay to actually go all out against the tigress and just getting to fight Vlithra in general sounded amazing!
She'd punch herself afterwards for missing this opportunity.

With a spin she quickly stowed both of her revolvers in the inside of her cloak and then took hold of Vlithra's hand, shaking it once with a rough squeeze, geeze she was huge.
"You got it boss lady!"
Al sounded excited, very excited, she had already linked her scroll to the system, so the big screen overhead was showing her aura already, it was barley even scratched from fighting the Ursa, so that should not be an issue.
With a skip in her step, Al walked over to her bag, quickly taking her bottle and emptying the thing.

Then she grabbed something else.
"Oh uh one thing, I'm not 100% there yet with my semblance, so if I faint please just give me some water or ice dust, I got both in my bag"
Al said, raising the simple duffle bag, which she then deposited near the console and activated the containment field of the arena.

"With that out of the way."
An orange glint in her mask's hollow eyes was all Vlithra got before the wolf faunus in front of her raised her arms with a battle cry, flames coalescing around her hands as she slammed one into the floor, a shockwave raced towards Vlithra as Al then twirled around, the second hand releasing a bright hot fireball right at her own feet, the explosion sent Al streaking towards Vlithra, flames trailing behind her. A maniac laughter could be heard over the roaring flames as Al came crashing down, both axe in her hands ready to strike at the gangster.

Al, in a sense, accepting Vlithra‘s challenge had the tigress jumping on the inside. She finally got to have a rematch with the fiery wolf and her firm handshake was almost the only indicator to how eager she was. When Al went to drink, Vlithra used the opportunity to remove her jacket and link her scroll to the system to display her aura.
Huh, Al really didn‘t break a sweat with the Ursa. It meant she was as capable as Vlithra hoped she was.
The fiery wolf brought forth a heads up though, Vlithra made sure to remember in the heat of battle.

There wasn‘t much more time for Vlithra to prepare herself. Once the containment field was engaged and they were in the arena Al was going into full gear.
Al started off with a fine battle cry and a wave of flame rumbling towards the tigress with considerable speed. With a smile on her face and a swift motion, that was by now ingrained in her mind, Vlithra drew her shortsword and janked a water dust cartridge out to immediately insert. She sees Al catapulting herself immediately after, so Vlithra did not waste time at all defending herself. A swift swing with her sword sent a wave of flowing water forward, intending to cancel Al‘s own attack by extinguishing the flames. While at it Vlithra throws her drawn blade to her left so that she can draw her longsword with her strong arm.

“RHAA.“ A roar of exertion followed by the clanging sound of metal meeting metal, blades meeting blades, ring through the hall. With the impact the ground seemed to be the only thing giving out under the strength of the impact as it cracked, in contrast to Vlithra who stood unyielding as she met the two axes with her own blade in a battle ready stance and a grunt of exertion. She really had to put on some effort to hold her ground with how hard Al was going, but she‘d manage. After all she did say this was going to be an all out match.

However Vlithra was not too keen on fighting defensively. A light eruption of kinetic energy breaks their clash, forcing Al a step back away from the tigress. This time the fiery wolf was on the defensive. The tigress swung her blades from numerous angles at the wolf, first sideways and diagonal with the longsword and following up with her shorter blade. Then Vlithra‘s longsword came down with full force as if meant to cleave Al in twain.

Yes! Yes! YES!
This was what she had hoped for, Vlithra blocked her vicious axe attack with a cool a stance as Al could have hoped for, keeping stable unlike the floor under her, Al was so excited to finally fight this badass tiger that she had almost forgotten they were in a duel, the kinetic burst sending her backwards was a quick reminder of that though.
Also, a reminder of Vlithra having blocked her fire so effortlessly, that was frustrating, she'd have to focus on her weapons for now.

Al, caught her landing easily, the hollow eyes of her mask staring at the tigress, unmoving as always, as Al could hear the attack coming, the sound of metal slicing through air with brutal efficiency and strength was all too familiar to her, Al stepped backwards, she was fast enough to on her legs to easily leave the short swords range, but the long sword was still in hot pursuit, yet, Vlithra should have paid attention to Al's fight with the Ursa, as slower attacks like a long sword were child's play for her to avoid, as such Al side stepped the attack, with a cheeky nod, a smirk hidden under her mask.

Her turn again, using another burst Al launched herself forward, now low to the ground, she had her arms crossed for a scissor attack, aiming at Vlithra's sides.

Vlithra had to commend the fiery wolf. It was with ease that she kept out of her shortswords range, apparently she was way quicker on her feet than the tigress had originally anticipated. So it was no surprise that when Viridian Naraka tore the air in front apart as the blade came down, she hit nothing but air. The tip of her sword crashed into the ground, digging itsself in as her slash missed it‘s mark.

The fact that Al was faster than her made this more tricky than it should have been. It meant that Vlithra would have to try change her offensive game, or catch her by surprise. However the fiery wolf didn‘t leave time for breathing room, she was immediately on the offensive again. She was going for her sides!

Vlithra pressed her sword forward, further into the ground so it would be straight in. While this would usually seem disadvantagous, Vlithra planned to fully use it to her advantage. She kept her momentum going forward to dig her sword in the ground as intended and when it seemed like Al‘s attack would strike true, she kicked herself off the ground so her body would be out of harms way. She almost put too much strength into her jump as she uses her stuck sword as a pivot to cartwheel over it and guide her feet back to the ground on the other side of the blade. She landed in an almost squatting position, however the tigress wasn‘t done yet. Turning the blade sideways, she wedged her sword in the stone crevice it had dug into and steeled her upper body. Static was building up, and she began glowing with green lightning crakcling around her body.

With a stomp and a grunt Vlithra pulled the sword up from behind her back, forcing it out and breaking the ground it was stuck in seconds ago. She did so with such strength and ferocity, shards of rock, rubble and dust followed the blade as she swung it forward from behind her back. In the same moment she released the kinetic energy she had built up in a shock wave, hurling the debris towards Al. Now most of it wasn‘t bigger than small rocks, however empowered with Vlithra‘s semblance? They were practically more fragile bullets.

Vlithra uses this ‘distraction‘ to go back on the offensive with a wicked smile. Turning around she jumped towards Al, again charging kinetic energy, coming down from above intending to crush the ground with the impact of her blade and repelling whatever counter attack Al would use.

She dodged!
How did Vlithra dodge this?
Al reeled around after her attack missed, her bad eyesight not allowing her to follow Vlithra's fast movement, she turned around just in time to see her land, okay using her stuck sword to pull herself away was a smart play.
But it was still stuck and so was she!
Al went back in, a ball of flames coalescing around both her hands, Now that Al knew of this creative use of that big sword Al cloud plan around it, and she could simply use her axes to slash Vlithra out of the idea should she try to jump over her fire.
Wait, what was she...crap baskets.
One unexpected maneuver followed the other as Al was now staring down the proverbial barrel of a shotgun, that and an angry Tiger faunus.
She couldn't dodge this, the sword sure, but not the bullets.
Al felt frustration boil up inside her as with a roar of anger Al smashed both her fist together, the fire already collected gleaming white as with a loud rumble Al went up in flames.

Fuck, this hurt, now she felt bad for trying to attack Vlithra's side, as Al was now holding her side, a large chunk of the stone bullets had been burned or thrown back, but two large chunks had still hit Al, one in her chest and face, both of which were protected, something she could not claim of her stomach area.
Al shook her head, taking a deep breath to steady herself as she got back into her combat stance, looking at the counter her aura had suffered some damage, being depleted by about a quarter.
But that was still more than enough to keep going.

Vlithra was ridiculously tough and had proven herself more than capable of handling Al's onslaught, should she really try and go in again?
Did she actually have to devise a proper plan now?
NAH!
Al's weapons clicked as they shifted into two revolvers, a volley of bullets hailed in on Vlithra as Al was rushing toward her again, two quick reloads followed as the weapons then shifted back into axe form, Al lunged at Vlithra, fire forming at her mouth bright and obviously for Vlithra to see, as a stream of fire shot at the tigress Al was ready, her axe's crackled with electricity and as Vlithra shot water to drown out her fire Al had already discharged the electricity dust she had just loaded into her weapons, a discharge that would now go right into Vlithra's arm.

While Vlithra crashed down upon Al as she was bombarded with rock bullets, she could only watch as she suddenly saw Al going up in flames and exploding.
She steeled herself for the heat and the rocks repelled back at her, raising her arms in front of her face to shield herself. She was forced to interrupt her attack and regain her footing after that.
With an exhale she lowered her arms again to look upon the fiery wolf who had taken a solid hit from her counter-attack.

However as quickly as they got back into fighting position, they were back at each other again. Al started off with a barrage of bullets which Vlithra replied to by running to the side and swatting some of them out of the air with her swords.
Of course this wasn‘t enough to prevent some bullets to find their target to chip away at her aura, but it‘ll prevent Vlithra loosing her lead.
Then it was back into melee and once the tigress saw those slits in that metal mask flare up and fire formed in front of them she knew what was coming.
She readied her water dust infused blade and once that stream of fire rolled towards her she stabbed it forward, dispensing water in copious amounts to extinguish the flames.

“GHAAAA!“ The tigress cried out as she suddenly felt a shock through her body. Flooded with electricity, Vlithra was jittering and spasming as nerves fired randomly, forcing all of her muscles to flex to the maximum of their capability, preventing her from going limp. A moment later the electric charge finally stopped and left her body. Vlithra was breathing heavily.

“You cheeky little… crap.“ Vlithra managed to utter as she deeply exhaled, and almost dropped to a knee, her arms finally going limp causing her to drop her favored longsword as she lost her grip. That knocked the wind right out of her. She just stood there… arms slack, upper body hunched over as if still in pain and hair ruffled and hanging down in front of her face. If there was ever a moment for Al to attack it was now, and she was taking it, jumping at the still dazed tigress.

As soon as Al‘s feet left the ground, Vlithra‘s head suddenly jolted upwards, with an exasperated grunt, to look at the fiery wolf. A flash of neon green light came from behind that obstructed visage of hers, piercing through the veil that was her now messy and glowy hair. Her body straigthened and a static built up that forbode the tigresses wrath. Her free arm tensed, armed with a tightly clenched fist that now bolted with breakneck speed to the approaching body. And once it struck, as Vlithra twisted her hip to pull even more strength from her body, the energy she had built up shot through the limb and into the area of impact, Al‘s gut.

In but a blink of an eye the fiery wolf was shot away through the air like she as shot out of a canon, right at the containment field of the arena.
Vlithra felt the strain even more, her arm shaking a little as she released the tension in it. Al would certainly need some time to recover from that hit, so the tigress went through her hair to fix it and grabbed her dropped blade to sheath it. If she was going to hit Al, she needed to be faster, her main weapon was too slow.
She then wasted a moment to look at the aura gauge for herself, while ejecting the now used up dust cartridge.
Damn, that electric shock took quite a toll from her on top of what she used with her semblance.
Luckily that hit she scored leveled the playing field again.

Determined more than ever, with a cheeky little smile, she charged towards Al again, her heavy steps carrying her her tall frame towards the petite wolf. Meanwhile she pulled another dust cartridge from her pocket to insert. This time it was ice.

Hah!
Not so smart to use water when Al had infused her weapons with electric dust, a dust type that once again proved itself as a favorite, nothing was more satisfying than punishing some smart ass who thought they could counter her flames with some measly water, now it was time for Vlithra's lesson to continue, seeing her opponent buckle and drop one of her swords from the electric shock did make her regret this just a little, but she did ask for an all out duel, so Al would not hold back.
With another lunge, Al prepared to slam down both her axes on Vlithra in another vicious cross-slash.

That glare would have made Al stop in place if she was not midair, the build up of Vlithra's semblance was a chilling sight as Al tried to brace herself best for what would happen, but she had no time to react.
A pained gasp was all the reaction she could muster as Vlithra's fist buried itself in her gut with an amount of force that Al had seldom had to endure, the wolf girl went flying, hitting the top part of the containment field before falling back to the floor where thankfully she managed to gather herself enough and slow her fall using her flames, while Al was on her feet she was hunched over, trying her best to get her breath back.

Her aura had taken a bad hit, Vlithra's too, she couldn't afford to face the tigress in melee combat anymore as her fists were a much better answer to her own speed compared to the slow long sword.
Plus, she hadn't gotten the chance to show off her semblance yet.

Al spun her weapons, making them click into place in their revolver form, quickly reloading the magazine that had held the electricity dust she had punished Vlithra with, for now it would just be regular bullets as Vlithra would see any more baiting attempts regarding electric dust coming.

Al raised herself again, having gained back her breath she held the two revolvers at her side, glaring at Vlithra in a straight pose as the air around Al began to flicker, the tigress would be able to feel the heat emanating off Al as blue embers began to swirl around her.
Vlithra wanted serious, she'd get serious.

Al reared back her hand as it filled with bright blue flames and slammed it into the ground as suddenly the entire floor was engulfed in flames, an ocean of glowing blue was rapidly spreading outwards from Al, as the fiery wolf reared around and began shooting at Vlithra with her revolver, the slits of her mask were holding an intense glow, but the expected flamethrower wasn't coming as Al was instead charging up something else, a strategy that had worked against a 3rd year student would surely help her out against Vlithra.
She had to end this fast, going blue meant that her aura was depleting much quicker now, but the boost in strength was just what she needed to bring Vlithra down.

It was satisfying to see that Al was reeling really hard and had to take a few moments to catch her breath to get back into fighting position in response to the hit she took. It didn‘t take all too long for both to be staring each other down as the tigress sprinted towards her target and the fiery wolf had readied herself for the next assault. However suddenly… everything felt warmer than before… and Al emenated blue embers.

It was the only indicator Vlithra got as Al sent forth a wave of blue flames that crawled over the floor all around. What was this? A second wind perhaps...? Or... a dying gasp... wild desperation? Vlithra couldn‘t tell, to her it didn‘t matter as instinct kicked in. Halting her advance Vlithra slashed her sword across the floor towards Al, causing a spike wall of ice to crawl across the ground towards the fiery wolf in an attempt to cleave through the fiery offense. To Vlithra‘s horror though, it didn‘t even come half as far as it should have, as it melted shortly after clashing with the blue flames, that rolled ever closer to the tigress. The heat was getting unbearable already and the flames hadn‘t even reached yet. She needed space… once again lightning sparked around the cornered tigress. She raised her blade and plunged it into the ground.

“GRAAAAAH!“ An arena shaking, beastial roar broke out of the now pressured tigress, the resulting shockwave of green lightning pushing outwards with the force of a bombshell. It held back the enroaching fiery demise that Vlithra was desperate to avoid. As she yanked her sword back upward an ice pillar shot up from beneath her, pushing her up and catapulting her… if the flames were at the ground, then she‘d take the ceiling…

As the pillar almost immediately collapsed under the heat of Al‘s hellish flames, Vlithra ejected the used cartridge and put her shortswords grip to her mouth to hold it sideways there. She‘d need the empty hand now, as she pressed a button on her sheath and drew her longsword again. The now aura electrified blade then stabbed forward as she darted toward the ceilling of the arena. The blade dug into the metal ceilling, just as it did the stone ground before. And again the tigress wedged the blade into where it had embedded itsself, allowing it to be firmly stuck there.

The tigress, pulling herself upsidedown and planting her feet at the ceiling, looked down at the fireshow that was going on down there. Strained eyes refused to look anywhere but directly at Al, although it was difficult not to notice that the ice had completly evaporated into mist. Yet the shortsword still remained pressed between Vlithra‘s teeth. While keeping herself up at the ceiling with one, the other hand yanked another cartridge of dust from the holster, this time it was wind which was quickly inserted in the blades pommel.

After Vlithra grabbed the blade from the mouth she unwedged her blade, and once she did, she jumped from the ceiling straight down towards at Al. Her longsword slid out of the crack it had created, however was immediately tossed aside as the tigress didn‘t want to bother with sheathing the damn thing mid-air, but also didn‘t want it damaged in Al‘s fiery onslaught. Mid-fall she started crackling with lightning in preparation for whatever offense Al had prepared and slashed downward. Now a strong broad wind torrent barreled towards Al with an angry tigress following like a comet falling from the sky.

Well, Vlithra's scared reaction actually drove a smile upon Al's face, it was a great relief to just see her ice attacks fade, Al was simply wading towards Vlithra through her sea of flames, her guns spinning in her hands ready to blast Vlithra if she were to engage.
But, Vlithra actually surprised her, she tried to escape, guess this fire was scarier to her than Al had actually first expected, should she go on like this ?
NO! No Mercy, a stinging sensation in her gut reminded her that Vlithra wasn't holding back and neither should Al.

With her focus now back on Vlithra, Al could see her having climbed up to the ceiling, really what was she doing something up there ?
Oh, a dive bomb.
That was an issue, but none that Al could solve.
With a raise of her hand, the sea of fire Al had already generated left the floor, clenching her hand into a fist, the flames concentrated in many smaller projectiles, now pointing right at the rapidly descending tiger.
With a wide sweeping motion of her hand, Al would launch a third of the fire projectiles towards Vlithra.

Using the time, Vlithra would have to spend dodging or blocking them to move away, her guns now at the ready as lead bullets joined with the fiery ones, more fire bolts flying towards Vlithra, now in an arc.
Al had noticed that her huge and impressive moves were blocked easily by the tigress, so now she was peppering her from multiple directions.
But that was all a distraction, she was still charging the fire blast in her mouth, slowly but surely channeling any aura into she could spare, which wasn't a lot, but a concentrated blast like this would still do major damage.

With one last swipe of her arm, having the last of her fire bolts fly towards Vlithra and firing the last few bullets in her guns magazines, Al was ready.
She hoped that Vlithra wasn't expecting this, if she did, Al would lose, but she had already committed to this gamble.
As Al reeled back, a bright blue, almost white glow coming from the slits underneath her mask, the last of the fire bolts reached Vlithra and Al fired off her charged up attack.
This better work.

As she bolted through the air, downward towards the fiery wolf she felt the heat growing ever so close, and not only because she was getting closer to the ground. Forcing her first failsave, small flame projectile shot towards the tigress and subsequently where diverted and pushed away as Vlithra released her ammassed kinetic energy.
The wind torrent from the tigress sadly didn‘t find it‘s mark, at the least cushioning Vlithra‘s descend a meter before the ground. This was enough for the tigress to roll off the ground after landing and keep moving towards Al as she unleashed more lead at the tigress.

Vlithra was getting pressured further, to her it seemed that Al intended to wittle her down little by little from a distance, a strategy that could indeed turn the tide in the wolf‘s favor and may end the fight outright. The tigress knew, she either ended it now or she‘d fall victim to the flames and barrages. So when another barrage of flames joined the bullets flying at her Vlithra hopped and spun, slashing the air around her and dispensing the last bit of wind dust she had. A turbulence of air briefly shot up around the tigress like a tornado, deflecting the incoming projectiles away once more. This gave her enough time to channel more energy from her semblance. As soon a Al fired the third volley, Vlithra flared up in green again and the channeled energy shot through her limbs. Her swordarm swung outward, cleaving the air in front of her with reckless abandon, swatting a significant mass of bullets out of the air, no thanks to the force exerted and the energy enveloping even her blade. She then reeled back her other hand…

Vlithra suddenly bursted forward… becoming a flash of green light that shot towards Al in an instant. Her flaming projectiles left behind to strike the ground she just stood in a moment ago.
The tigress was suddenly in Al‘s face and stared her down with flaring eyes and gritted teeth. Her balled fist ready to explode forward, the arm practically shivering as it was about to burst with the outward kinetic energy Vlithra held back ‘til the last moment. This was the only shot she got and those blue glowing slits seemed eager to dispense a devestating payload of their own. She had to knock her out… NOW!

Her fist shot upwards for a devastating uppercut. That distinct feeling of the impact with Al‘s chin was almost dull in comparison to the ache Vlithra felt in her arm at the moment of release. The only evidence she hit her square on was the sound it created. All of that energy released at once culminated in an explosion of force that rivaled a bomb in it‘s epicenter.

Yeah, this was going perfectly!
Al thought to herself as she was watching Vlithra deflect her smaller projectiles, she was wasting her resources doing so, one dust charge gone and another, all just to deflect her diversion.
This could not have gone any better for her, Vlitrha was right where she wanted, and Al could easily finish this fight with her last attacks.

So why did she fail ?
Al was just about to fire off her charged up attack, the fireball was halfway out of her mouth and had touched the slits of her mask, and was ready to break Vlithra's aura shield into smithereens and bring Al her victory.
But, here she was, Al had missed her opportunity, her attack was not even out yet, but Vlithra had shot right into her face, the tall Tigress seemed much more imposing than usual as her green glowing visage was staring right into Al's shocked eyes.
She was still trying to readjust, try and fire off her attack downward into Vlithra's face, but to no avail.
How was she so fast ?!
...how could she forget about this, back at the beach Vlithra had used the same technique, where she just went from a standstill to flying into the water within a split second.
It was an impressive display, but in the heat of their fight, Al had forgotten about this.

And now she was paying for her mistake, a sharp pain shot through her jaw as Vlithra's fist connected with her chin, she could already feel her feet leave the ground, as even though Al had tried to brace for the impact, she was still sent flying.
As her attack never had a chance to be fired of, Al could feel regret seep in, she'd never use her mouth to channel an attack like this again.
With Al already flying, the following explosion sent Al flying into the wall again, she was certainly getting well acquainted with it.
Yet this time the poor wolf didn't recover from the following fall, falling flat on her front in a cloud of dust.

This hurt, a lot.
Al groaned, somehow that had not knocked her out, her mask was also still on her face.
Right, she could still do this!
Al tilted her head, she could see Vlithra still standing, barely, she could still finish this!
Al reached for her weapons, not finding them, right, manual way it was.
She pushed herself off the ground, slowly, her arms shaking as she was doing so, kneeling before slowly getting up, standing on her legs.
Haha, she was still in the fight.
Al lifted her hand once more, laughing maniacally as she charged up one more attack, yet what Al did not pay attention to was her flames flickering, with her aura not doing much better.
With her laugh peaking, Al reached out her hand to launch and attack, but the only thing she saw instead was a familiar orange flicker around her arm.
As the strain of using her semblance caught up with her and the adrenaline rush making space for a brutal headache, Al was unable to keep conscious and slowly fell forward.

Vlithra slid forward a bit more from the momentum she had going. Once she came to a halt she stood solidly, well sort of… a following explosion almost knocked Vlithra down to a knee. She drew heavy breaths, the adrenalin going crazy being the only thing keeping her from collapsing on the spot as the stinging aches finally kicked in. She barely managed, despite the aching pain.
What really bothered the tigress was her right arm. It was fully slack, not being able to either clench to a fist nor raise. Her frequent semblance use in the last few moments really took a massive toll on her. Vlithra‘s aura was dangerously low, at least it felt like it, she didn‘t waste a moment to look at the meter for the both of them.

As Al suddenly got up groaning, Vlithra‘s eyes went wide for a second. How was this girl still not out? Any other student would have been out cold for the next hour.
N...No matter, Vlithra was still able to fight. Just… down an arm and most of her resources exhausted.
Vlithra twirled her shortsword in her hand and consecutively sheathed it, no use in keeping it around. Even if she were to use her last dust cartridge it wouldn‘t be of much use now. Combustion dust infused in her blade was usually used to blast open solid surfaces for cover or access to projectiles for her semblance. Given the situation both were less than ideal… then again.

It was a gamble, but seeing Al get up and laugh maniacally convinced the tigress it was worth trying. Readying to pull the cartridge, Vlithra stormed forward, her other arm practically being dragged through the air. She was ready to throw the cartridge into Al‘s face should she try anything more fire related.

Then the tigress saw those flames flicker, dying out and shortly after… Al collapsed with a thud. A loud buzzer went off, signaling that one of the students had fully run out of aura. As the tigress slowed down as she walked toward Al, fatigue was finally kicking in. Her legs suddenly becoming jelly, she falls to one knee audibly groaning in frustration. She… no… they both overdid it. Then again, this was an all out match and they delivered.
In the end Vlithra was the one victorious… by a small margin.

After taking a few moments to regain some strength, Vlithra finally made her way towards Al to pick her up. Her right arm was still killing her, the pain was unbearable. Kneeling down next to her, her still working arm slithered beneath to heave the wolf girl up to shoulder carry her. Only for the tigress to notice that Al‘s body was steaming hot, it was barely manageable with Vlithra‘s aura still active.

The still battle hazy tigress was however already fully committed and steeled herself as she transported Al to the benches and carefully laid her down. It was also a great reminder on what she said at the beginning, needing to cool down with either water or ice dust. Therefore Vlithra was shortly found rummaging through her fiery friends bag, finding ice dust to be the more appropiate solution of the two. Still a bit hazy and screwing caution at this point, she painstakingly held the shell towards Al with her weak arm and slammed her fist against the trigger to set it off, ice exploding out of it and immediately reacting with the heat radiated from Al‘s body, engulfing them both in steam.

Stepping back and giving Al sometime, Vlithra sat herself on a bench across to rest herself. She was completly done for the day. Her legs were still shaky and her arm was only slowly regaining strength. However she was satisfied. After all… this was one hell of a great battle.

Al had not felt this bad since a WHILE now, after Vlithra laid her on the bench Al laid there motionless for at least an hour, probably more.
Al groaned as she was slowly coming to, her one working eye blinking as she held her head, her head which was killing her, this headache was horrendous and Al wanted to pass right back out, but her jaw was the worst, she reached for her chin, roughly moving her jaw back from side to side, alright, it wasn't broken, but Al could taste lead in her mouth which she guessed was her having bit her lip, something that was a little worse for someone with teeth like hers.
Argh, thinking was making this worse!

Al slowly got up, flinching as she reeled forward to feel her stomach finally raise a complaint about being punched as hard as it had been before, she had to get that truck's number sometime.
Speaking of which, she finally noticed Vlithra sitting next to her.
Al just raised her hand in a shushing motion, hoping that Vlithra would get the hint and not talk to her.
She looked around and quickly found her bag, rummaging through it and grabbing the water bottle inside.
Turning away from Vlithra Al pulled off her mask, the piece of metal clattering on the bench as she couldn't be bothered to try and pull it up correctly, greedily Al took swigs from the bottle, quickly emptying it as she stuffed it back in and grabbed her mask, putting it back in place before she turned to the tigress.
Al took just a moment to gather herself, taking a deep breath and trying her best to get this darn headache to pass, no luck of course, this was gonna haunt her for the rest of the day.

She sighed, simply looking at Vlithra for a it longer, the tigress was not doing much better than her, the way she was holding that arm of hers looked really bad, guess they both should have held back just a little.
Al couldn't help but chuckle a little, as excitement finally found it's way back into her system.
"That was awesome!"
Al pumped both of her fist downwards, almost jumping off the bench, but restraining herself just a little.
"I knew you were strong, but that was ridiculous! My mouth and gut feel like I got hit by a rocket!"
"...actually, my mouth feeling like this may be partially my fault."
She finally stood up, leaning over to Vlithra her face now closer to the tigress.
"I had so much fun fighting you, let's do this again some time! How about when we're both healed, you'll give me a rematch!"
At this point Al had taken a seat next to Vlithra, even with the tinted lenses of her mask the tigress would be able to see a spark of excitement in Al's eyes, if it wasn't obvious already the little wolf was a battle maniac, nothing got her heart pumping like a good brawl and Vlithra had delivered just that, no whining, no freaking out over her fire or calling Al a lunatic, this had been perfect!
Just two girls, the arena and the simple goal of winning.
She was really hoping Vlithra would share her enthusiasm, at least a little.

Half an hour passed as Vlithra just sat there waiting for Al to wake up. But hell, she was completly out with no sign of waking up for now. The tigress was concerned, maybe she should get her to a medical ward instead? Hm… nah, she got a pulse and was breathing so it really was just a matter of getting some rest. Figuring that could take a while Vlithra stood up and went on to collect the weapons that were still scattered in the arena, her right arm felt like it was being pricked by thousands of hot needles that dug into her flesh, certainly not pleasant.

First she passed over to her own weapon, laying near the edge of the arena. She must have chucked it really hard to make sure it didn‘t land in the flames and melted. Picking it up she inspected it carefully her right arm still having trouble raising the blade further than to her hips. At least it was still in tact. Subsequently it was sheathed and Vlithra trotted over to where Al had lost her own weapons of choice.

She really couldn‘t help it, as she picked the dual axes off the ground she held one of each in her hands. She had to try them out at least once, since she already had the chance. She swung once with her left, cleaving through the air and feeling the wieght of the weapon. These really weren‘t bad, however not quite her style. Pain in her right arm restrained her from doing anything further than that though. She headed back, put the weapons next to Al‘s bag and sat herself next to her on the bench. By now she had cooled down a lot, enough to not be uncomfortable next ot her. Actually the warmth was sort of cozy. With closed eyes Vlithra fell into a quick, meditation like, nap.

Al‘s groaning got Vlithra jolting up… aaaand immediately clenching her hand around her right arm as it suddenly felt worse than before. She must have torn a muscle, there was no other explanation for this. Al didn‘t notice for now, she was preoccupied tending to her own needs first, which was reasonable. Vlithra did go all out on that last hit after all and she seemed to have literally burned out. Once done, Al was her old excited self again. She had fun with their battle and so did the tigress. Al was so eager to requested a rematch, that was once they were both in top shape again of course, Vlithra escaped a chuckle.

“Alright!“ Vlithra exclaimed, as she hooked her arm around Al‘s neck and drew her a bit closer, leaning in aswell with an excited smile plastered on her face. “Once I get my arm fixed, you‘re on!“ Vlithtra raised a finger as if to add on... "But first..." She quickly released the fiery wolf, she didn‘t want to intrude on her battle buddies personal space for too long. "...how about we get something to eat? My treat." Vlithra was beat for the day, but after a great fight like this she was also a bit hungry. She hoped Al would share the sentiment and join her.

As she was pulled in, Al leaned her head into Vlithra's, she really did not mind the closeness, yet her mask still hid any emotions Al may show.
Well, Vlithra seemed to have a very good reception to her proposal of a rematch, which while it made Al very happy, should not be that surprising, Vlithra had been the one to suggest this fight in the first place, Al was just happy to have found another battle crazy person, it was a nice breath of fresh air compared to a lot of their more reluctant or uptight peers.

The next proposal got Al's attention, the wolf straightening up as her ears stood straight, launching her hood right off her head.
"YES PLEASE!" She exclaimed excitedly, especially as Vlithra said she'd paid, nothing tasted better than free food...well besides self-made food.
Al then realized how she had reacted, a blush creeping up on her cheeks as her shoulders slackened a little, and Al sheepishly continued.
"I mean, yeah, some food sounds good right about now."
A weak laugh followed, as Al was just a little embarrassed by letting her impulsive desire take the reins there.

That embarrassment aside Al was quick to gather her things, Vlithra having been kind enough to grab her weapons made that an easy task and soon the happy wolf was following her feline friend to the dining hall, Al did notice that Vlithra seemed in much worse shape than she was, even though Al did not recall directly attacking her arms, did Vlithra burn them when she went blue ?
She'd have to ask her about that, but maybe not, Vlithra seemed intent on toughing this out.

Soon Al was settled at one of the smaller tables in the hall, this one having enough space for maybe 3 or 4 people, not that anyone would be approaching their table with the scary tigress and her slightly less yet still intimidating presence, or at least that's what Al was thinking.
As, with her mask pushed up, the wolf was tearing into a rotisserie chicken, she knew silverware existed for a reason, but something just felt so much better about eating with just her hands.
She took a short break, to drink some more water, she had to make sure to rehydrate after a fight like that, and to also check on Vlithra.
"Thanks again for buying me food, next time I'll be the one paying though...because I'll have won! Speaking of the winner, how are you feeling ? About the fight and in general, that arm of yours seems to bothering you."
Al pointed out, still trying her best to keep a casual mood, which wasn't hard, Vlithra was though as nails so if something was actually off she'd have said something, but it felt rude not to make sure she was okay, thinking back the last duel Al had gone blue in, ended up with a one-sided screaming match, maybe it was best she didn't use this part of her semblance around other students ?

It was difficult to not be endeared by Al‘s reaction. Sometimes the little fiery wolf could just be too adorable. Vlithra escaped an amused chuckle when Al sheepishly tried to retract the, to her embarassing, desire for food.
With that they strutted towards the dining hall, only the uncomfortable pain in her right arm bothering her along the way. The tigress made note to have it show too much.

Once there, Al sat down at an empty table while Vlithra got them both something proper to eat. For Al a rotisserie chicken and for Vlithra cooked meat on a bone.
With her mouth the only thing being revealed beneath that mask, Al was practically feeding off the chicken like a predator. Seeing this Vlithra decided to forgo the concept of silverware as well, grabbing the meat by the bone, biting into the juicy flesh and ripping it off the rest of the fleshy mass. Eating these like this had a certain appeal to it, no need to bother with cutting the meat with a knife if you can just let your teeth do the work. While this would be more effective if Vlithra had inherited her mothers own tiger fangs, it worked well enough with her human biters. Vlithra chuckled when Al exclaimed she‘d win next time and asked about her.
“Oh please, no need to worry. I probably just tore a muscle. It‘ll heal eventually.“ Vlithra quickly explained before she took another bite off the meat, her damaged arm laying slack on the table. She leaned back in her chair sitting at an angle to the table that allowed her to rest one leg on the other. Once chewed sufficiently, she swallowed the meat and continued. “As for the fight itsself, you surprised me. Especially that blue fire of yours. Quite a shock how easily it melted the ice.“ She lazily pointed towards Al as she said so. "And that agility of yours is nothing to scoff at either, I needed to put up a lot of effort to catch you." With how laid back Vlithra was at the moment, she seemed content and happy, even if her arm was still an issue. But nohing she can do about it. Time will heal this wound eventually.

Well Vlithra seemed as relaxed as ever, which immediately put Al's mind at ease, she even joined her in the way she ate, though she probably did so because cutlery was out of the question with a disabled arm, so while it may have been due to circumstance, Al still enjoyed sharing this little feast of theirs with Vlithra.
"Well, if it's only that, then it's good."
Al sighed, she had torn muscles before, horrible really, but it would go away with some rest and cold bandages, the latter being kind of icky.
She continued to eat, hearing Vlithra comment on the fight and compliment her made Al more than happy, she kicked her legs a little under the table, praise always sounded so much better when it came from someone as strong as Vlithra.
"Thank you so much! Glad you like the blue flames, they're kinda what I'm working on at the moment, for now I can use them a whole thirty seconds before well...you know better than me how long I stayed out for, hope you used that ice dust on me before you picked me up... I burned through the training room floor last time I passed out like that back home."
Al giggled a little to herself as she recalled the look on her father's face.
"And yeah, I'm pretty fast, can't rely on my aura when my semblance is constantly draining it, so I gotta dodge instead."
She shrugged, her speed was something Al rarely ever thought of that much, but Vlithra was onto something, she had noticed she was a fair bit quicker than most of the other students she had faced so far, she should really start taking notes.
"Couldn't keep up with you though, that semblance of yours may have some recoil but holy hell, you're just too much, you were in my face in an instant, it was actually scary, and I have been hit before, even by a full-blown huntsman, but no one sent me flying like that ever before, if you didn't use my gut and face as a launching point that could have actually been fun."
Al once giggled to herself, yet stopping sooner as she realized that having her gut used as a launch pad did make laughing a literal pain, not that she minded, as Al soon giggled once more at this realization.
"So, after food, do you wanna hang out for a bit or rather get some shut-eye ?"
Al titled her head, as she took another bite of her food, chowing down on the last piece with delight.

Al was quick do dismiss her worries about Vlithra‘s torn arm and was just as quick to elaborating on those blue flames of hers. So it was something still in the works and therefore gravely lacked in efficiency. That did make sense given the heat she eminated during the fight… and afterwards as a matter of fact as the tigress recalled how she was fighting through the heat to carry Al to the benches before actually cooling her down. Her eyes went wide when she heard that Al melted through the floor once. It was good that Vlithra‘s aura insolated her body enough to not receive 3rd degree burns.
Given the almost ravenous nature of her semblance in terms of aura use Vlithra could certainly see why Al is such a dodgy fighter.

Vlithra ripped another big piece of meat from the bone and chuckled as Al then went on about the tigresses own performance. She couldn‘t help but feel flattered, after all Al is comparing her hits with those of a fully fledged huntsman. Sure, Vlithra didn‘t exactly knew who that huntsman was she was talking about, but still… a sense of pride planted itsself firmly inside of the tigress.
Yet she knew she still had room to grow. Vlithra just needed to learn how to aclimate to the recoil of her semblance properly, and once she does, she‘d most likely be unstoppable among the students, she thought.
Such thoughts were kept to herself and her mind instead focused on Al‘s next question.

“I reckon that we both need some time to rest. I know I wouldn‘t want to do anything with my aura as far gone as yours. So how about we meet up again later and hang out then?“ Vlithra exclaimed shortly after swallowing the big piece of meat she had been cheweing these last moments.

This was nice, great even, the fight was amazing yet just talking with a like minded indivual like Vlithra was pretty fun.
Even if Vlithra did not respond much to what Al said she could see her thoughts play out on her face, that shocked reaction when Al told her about her floor accident got a chuckle out of her and the smile tugging at Vlithra's lips when Al praised her strength was also a nice sight.
She knew Vlithra wasn't one for emotional outbursts like herself, so it was all the more interesting to get a look behind the gangster tigress icy facade.

Yet her suggestion still disapointed Al, both shoulders and ears slacking with a sigh.
But Al knew Vlithra was right. Al had just recovered enough to talk and walk around and Vlithra may not have been as drained but still seemed very tired.
Plus any stress on her arm or any stress on Al in general would cut any hanging out short.

Al wiped her face, before pulling her mask back down.
"You're right, a nap does sound pretty good."
As if on que, she let out a yawn and stretched a bit, making the joints in her back pop. Then pulling out her scroll, typing on it she then turned it to Vlithra showing of her contact details.
"Here, just text me when you're ready, maybe that be to hang out or for me to get my revenge match."
Al offered with another chuckle.

Al might have been dissapointed, but it was good that she did in fact agree with Vlithra‘s decision.
The wolf girl quickly pulled out her scroll, an action that prompted Vlithra to nonchalantly pull out her own scroll from her pocket. The intent was quite obvious, however made Vlithra wonder how she never got to exchange contact details with the fiery wolf in the first place.
As a matter of fact, it reminded the tigress that she barely had any people she could call firends, mostly evident by the argueably scarce list of contacts the tigress herself sported. She really got to get around.

Gnawing at the last bit of meat on the bone in one hand she added Al into her contacts list with the other.
Once that was done, it wasn‘t even a moment later that Al received a text message saying ‘Tiger 1 – Wolf 0‘. This was accompanied by a rather cheeky grin from the tigress who upon removing the bone from her mouth reveals it skinned entirely from the rest of the meat.

“Alright, I‘ll be hitting you up later then. Gotta get around some more anyway. Been too busy lately.“ Vlithra stretched herself, the bone discarded on her plate.

Al lifted the last little bit of her meal up over her head and let it drop into her mouth, where she chewed it with a delighted giggle.
As she checked her scroll, Al just stared down at it for a bit, before glaring at Vlithra, before laughing again.
"Let's see how long it takes me to put that score in my favor,"
She exclaimed, leaning over the table, but stopping mid-motion as her stomach complained about being bent like this and Al just kinda flopped on the table.
"Owwwww...
Al raised herself up slowly, propping herself up using her hands.
"Yeah, that sounds good...I'm gonna go take a nap now."
Al said, rubbing the back of her neck, sighing as she got up and began to head off.
"C'ya in a bit then!"

Just as the tigress thought the wolf could remain lively, despite the condition she was in, she flopped onto the table in a silly manner, right after retorting Vlithra‘s cheeky scroll message.
The tigress had to really try to not giggle at Al as she complained about her stomach still hurting.
She quickly propped herself up and began heading away, as the tigress leaned back in her chair and waved.
“Catch‘ya later!“

As Al exited the dinning hall, Vlithra finally got up from her chair aswell and got to returning the dishes they had for their food. As she exited the hall, she lifted her now only numb feeling right arm and tried clenching her fist. Her grip was a bit weak still, a reminder of how far that little firestarter had pushed her. With a grin and a strong gait, she made her way to her room for some well earned rest.
