After her first few days at Beacon Academy, getting to know and familiarized with all these new fancy, "state of the art" tech the place has to offer; after getting to see a Grimm for the first time, a rather unimpressive beast to say the least; after multiple times she got pestered and scolded for her unprofessional and messy attire; after enduring long classes and try her best not to fall asleep to the old bag's lectures, explaining what a weapon is and how to use it effectively, going on and on; after having to chase off a few students who were particularly insistent on making a group or getting her to join their circle; after decking some idiot in his face for being way too pushy trying to hit on her; after getting a dorm room for herself and acquainted with neighboring students, Nata tackled the biggest challenge she had yet to face: Homework.
Nata had thought about just skipping the assignment and just chill out for the rest of the week. She's here to train to be a fighter, not some nerd who has to know what happens when you smash some colored crystal together. But later into the evening, while playing video games in bed, the thought of her parents crosses her mind. Nata suddenly recalled the times the mom forced her down on the chair at the dining table to finish her homework. She remembered the fond times they sat there at the table arguing about why she would ever need to finish some busy work that she’ll never need in the future. Nata smiled at the image of how mom would be looming over her bed, yelling at her to get the homework done. “Alright, alright. I’ll finish it.” Caved, Nata quickly shut off the game and got to work.
“Dust is often used for a variety of functions. Yadi yada...” The white Faunus began reading over the assignment, skipping through a lot of the text. “The goal of the assignment is to perform some basic functions… Mixing a small mixture of red and blue dust to create steam… Don’t mess up…” Reading the assignment while getting out a small dust starter kit, Nata grabbed two vials of dust from the container. Mistakenly, instead of red dust, the tiger took the orange vials instead. Haphazardly, Nata combined a large amount of combustion dust with water dust, hoping for a more “fun” reaction to at least spike her interest. The first red flag was when smoke was coming out of the combination rather than steam like the assignment had said it would. The second red flag was performing the experiment next to an open window, expecting a stronger and bigger puff of steam to fill the entire room. A strong gust of wind blew into the room, scattered the dust all over the tray and onto the table. The volatile material violently reacted, and before Nata could react to her mistake, there was an explosion. It shook the whole dormitory block and blew Nata’s room door straight off its hinge, along with the White Tiger after it.

Muscles sore and inflamed after swinging wooden swords and his actual weapon for hours, hands numb, bruised, and cut from the day of hand to hand combat training and pain tolerance training with pallets of bricks and wooden boards. Rouge stood and welcomed the cold rain that pelted his body outside of the training room, leaving a considerable mess of a day’s worth of training that would probably suspended his use of the rooms for at least half a week, it depends entirely on the staff and their moods towards him lately. He wore black sweatpants with the legs taped up above his ankles showing the EMRD tattoo he received recently, and he wore a white sheer shirt tucked in underneath the signature red silk sash he wore at all times. His sword was secure in it’s sheath and was secured in his sash while he dragged a black sweatshirt, soaked like the rest of him, across the road.
When he entered the dorm hallways it was very clear that it was the time most students and teams were either eating or enjoying each other’s company in any fashion as Rouge passed each door, occasionally looking through an open door or two to see the newer students look at him, not with awe, but with a quizzical look. Many have seen him make this walk of shame before but none stop or talk to him as he passes, instead whispering about his earlier years at this school. He ignored them as usual and instead played with three small glass marbles in his free hand, that was the case until Rouge watched a door blast off into the hallway with a student, first or second year from his guess, go flying along with it. The explosion was of considerable size and was more than likely caused by dust, but that didn’t stop him from throwing the marbles at the open door and soon enough they fused and expanded to create a mosaic wall of many different shades of blue glass. Rouge walked near the student and lowered himself slightly to give a visual inspection for anything in need of immediate medical attention. “Are you okay? Do you need any help or maybe a nurse?”

Face down on the ground, Nata was a little disoriented laying on the ground, hurled through the door standing so close to the explosion. Her ears were ringing from the blast. No doubt this will cause a lot of issues with the faculties the next day... or the neighbors around her tonight. One way to introduce herself to the entire block: The girl who blew her room up. If this incident spawn any weird nicknames, she'll punch their teeth in whoever said it, then punch herself out. That'll need to be taken care of later, right now Nata needs to get back and clean up the mess first. The room must be trashed from the incident, hopefully her clothes were ok.
Still on the ground pondering if her belongings survived the accident, Nata was greeted by another student drenched in sweat. The White Tiger couldn't really hear what the kid was saying through her ringing ears, but she could at least make out "help" and "nurse". Quickly getting off the ground and dusting herself off, Nata shook her head at the concerned boy. "I'm fine. I'm fine. Don't call the nurse, the most they'll do is just scold me." Rubbing her head slightly, tapping at her ear to maybe clear the ringing. It didn't seem like Nata suffered any damage at all, as the girl seems rather blasé being sent through a door by an explosion. Turning around, Nata's greeted with a wall of blue glass, bits and shards formed a mosaic pattern, blocking the doorway to her room
"I didn't know blue dust could do this?" The white Faunus leaned against the wall, giving it a quite genuine quizzical look. Turning to the other student, Nata only pointed it out to him, wondering if he'll have the same reaction, or at least know something about this. Last thing she wanted was some weird dust reaction she didn't know occurred and the same thing is now all over her room. At least she could see through the wall into her room. Yep... it's trashed alright.

Another nice day at Beacon had passed.
Ela had gotten used to the stress of being a student at this academy long ago, not that she minded it in the first place, she was happy to throw herself at any task this school threw at her and try her best.
She wished she could say the same about Lin, her biggest challange was coaching her little sister right now, which she had just finished doing, dust homework was always interesting, especially since Lin insisted on at least sampling her homework, which often resulted in her not having enough dust left to actually do it.
That's when the dorms shook with a violent explosion, she turned to Lin's room, sighed in relief and quickly ran to make out the source of the commotion.
A faunua was laying in the hallway, some smoke and common dust were still in the air, she could see another student with the faunus who seemed uninjured, that was a relief atleast.
She knew the other student, atleast from seeing him in the corridors and lectures but the white haired faunus was new, so she must be a first year student.
Oh, well guess she had gotten a little to ambitious regarding todays homework.
Ela wasen't sure how water and fire dust could create explosive force like this but that question could wait.
"Hey there, is everything okay given the circumstances ?"
Ela asked as she came to a stop next to the other students.
She followed the white tigers gaze into the room through the mosaic glass and drew a sharp breath as what she saw was messy to say the least.
The mosaic was no dust reaction known to her, as the faunus was confused about it too that only left the boy.
"I know I just got here, but we should check inside to make sure there's no fire and maybe salvage some of your belongings."
Ela said, with a tad of concern, fire and water dust coulden't feasibly start this sort of reaction on their own so what ever this student did could be much more volatile than she had seen so far.

Professor Copperfield never went to bed early. He stayed awake until the sun woke up, working on Dust formula after formula, experimenting with new gear and stitched and brewing and mixing sorting all the various Dust types he had, obtained illegally or legally. It was serious work for the Dust Artificer, but he also had a day job. Teaching. For which he hardly got more than 4 hours of sleep before his daily classes, but coffee had saved him and gave him the energy he needed to power through each day.
Today was an extreme exception. He had a field trip he had to supervise, and both Professor Wednesday and Honeydew told him very sternly to get his rest. He wasn't happy about it, but he could put on some Dust mixers that would take all night to slowly and properly mix the Dust into the compound he needed. Usually he would work on another task while that happened, but he remembered the two women's pleas, mostly threats of one kind or another, for him to sleep. So with a groan he laid in his bed in the teacher's dorm.
And he laid there for the next twenty minutes, no closer to sleep than he was before. His body wasn't programmed to sleep at this time, it just wasn't used to it. Night time was his time. He would just down a few sleeping pills, but he had to get up early. If he took those, he may not wake up to his alarm. Best to get the body a little exercise to make it want to sleep, then.
He threw on a plain white T-shirt and black pajama pants with the images of different colored Dust crystals on them. Nobody but him knew that the order they appeared and in their relative sizes was the basis of a formula he had worked out to create a bomb capable of leveling an entire city. He hadn't made it, it would be damned expensive and there wasn't a city he needed blowing up yet. But in case he forgot or needed it, there it was on his pajamas.
He put his usual leather duster on over the outfit, shimmering different hues of red, blue in the right light. Weaving Dust into clothing does that. He then topped off the ensemble with comfy slippers of a faded green color. He'd had them for a number of years and he still liked them. Copperfield then stepped out into the cool night air, hoping to get a long walk out to make him sleep better. Then he realized that most students were still up and might see him in the outfit. He debated going back inside and changing. Tell kids to screw off and have kids talk about him later? Not like he cared, but... Honeydew and Wednesday would. Two ladies he did not want to piss off. He sighed and turned to go change.
Then the student dorm nearby shook, and Copperfield heard an explosion, along with the shattering of glass from a window. Forgetting about his outfit he ran to the building, long coat flapping in the air and slippers plap-plap-plaping on the walkways. He made it up the stairs, moving past students who were starting to crowd to investigate what happened. "Move please, move please! MOVE! Teacher coming through!" He called as he got into the hallway where the explosion happened.
Copperfield was tall. Really tall. And so before he made it through the crowd he already saw a first year lying face down, a door off it's hinges, and a blue glass wall in it's place. There was also Rouge, a student of his, and Ela, one he personally had recommended to the school along with her sister, checking on the student who was on the ground. Ela spoke about checking the room out for any fires, and Copperfield had to smile at that. Smart girl. Whatever happened may not be over, and they could minimize the damage if they were brave enough to go in.
"Is everyone ok? Who's room is this? Is anyone else inside?" He asked as he walked closer and kneeled down next to the trio. "What caused this to happen?" He thought he could smell the residue of a Dust explosion, which made sense. He glanced through Rouge's glass wall. The room was destroyed.

Rouge stepped away from the student to give her a little more breathing room and space while peering into her room, and he had to agree with her that it was a mess. No fires from what he could tell but the blue glass slowly thickened and grew stronger as a result of the musician fortifying it just in case. He was surprised when she refused help from a nurse, even more surprised that she was scared or at the very least not willing to be scolded by them, meaning that it wasn’t serious. Her comment of blue dust did confuse him for a moment thinking she meant the explosion but when she pointed out the glass Rouge quickly came to realize what she meant. “It didn’t come from blue dust, it’s my semblance. I threw it up in case of a second explosion and smoke leaking into the hallway.”
He was cut off by the sounds of others coming towards the crime scene, looking up he saw a female who Rouge has maybe seen in passing once and he believes with a sister, and a faculty member. My second interaction with Copperfield, this time a result of an explosion… Rouge sighed a bit as he heated the other student ask about checking out the room for any fires or salvageable items, or equipment. She was right to say so and from his angle Rouge was only able to half of the room, so he pressed his open palm on the glass pane and within a second of contact cracks began to web out until the entire piece of art was ruined with cracks. As he took his hand away the glass fell apart in a satisfying view of blue dust and shimmering shards that caught the hallway light and when it hit the ground it was soon dissipating into nothingness. “I’ll take a look and make sure to either stop any hazards or at least mitigate it enough for the Professor to stop it.”
With the way clear Rouge took the first step into the room to assess damages, any rising smoke or flickering flames was met with a small glass dome to snuff out any potential fires from growing or spreading. Thankfully the open window exhausted more of the smoke and from his guess it will wait out fully within the hour. Though his eyes did catch a singed kit containing vials of dust and from the burnt table Rouge could clearly see lingering specks of blue and Orange dust, a combination basically making a ticking clock taped to a bomb. “It’s clear in here… were you making ammunition or were you throwing vials together hoping something other than you would blow away?” It came across rude and callous but Rouge rarely beat around the bush when it came to interacting with people, it was difficult to follow along their stories if you gave them that chance. Hopefully this incident won’t happen to her again.

Now that Nata got a brief moment to collect herself, she noticed the crowd that’d gathered around the room, looking at what the commotion was all about. This combined with the fact that she got barred from getting back into her own room by some nosy student who’d put a glass barrier up only ticked the white Faunus off more. Her face turned to a sour expression, teeth gritted under her lips and a hand covered up her face to hide the scowling looks. Without looking at the student that’d approached them and started questioning.
Before she could get a word in and ask everyone to go away, her ears flicked slightly at the booming voice of a faculty member hastily rushing toward them. Seeing professor Copperhead towering over the wall of students that had gathered really dampened Nata’s already bad mood. Seeing the old geezer coming would just mean that she’ll now have to explain everything to the man, he’ll probably yell at her for being so reckless, the two of them will get into a confrontation that results in disciplinary actions, the works.... the Tiger could already see the whole thing play by play. At the very least, she could get a light chuckle out of his incredibly nerdy and stupid-looking pajama.
“I’m fine, I’m not hurt. I don't need any more help. I was just doing my homework and… Hey, what do you think you’re doing?!” Letting out a long sigh, Nata recited the same response to both the girl and professor’s questions, quickly interrupted by seeing the boy breaking the glass barriers and entering her room without her permission. Brushing past both the girl and Copperhead, Nata entered the room second to also assess the damage.
Most of her belongings were damaged in the process. The game console got knocked far back into the corner. The bed frame had a few char marks, the mattress was blown off, hurled to the other corner. Her table suffered massive fire damage from the initial explosion, along with the floor and ceiling where she sat. Most of her clothing in the closet remained unharmed, which was at least a saving grace, and the dust starter kit only suffered some scratches with most of the contents remaining unharmed.
“Watch your tone kid, or else you might regret it. What I’m doing in here is none of your damn business.” Nata hissed back at the male student’s question, putting some emphasis on the threat, given no mind to his effort to negate as much damage in the room as possible. “I’m not trying to blow the dorm up. I’m just trying to finish up and get all the homework done.” The more Nata got into her explanation, the less scornful her tone was and instead, a slight hint of shame for messing up a basic assignment so badly she blew her room apart. Quickly, the feeling of shame was once again replaced with more fury when she turned back toward the hallway and yelled back at the students gathering to inspect the commotion. “And the rest of you, stop being so nosy and go back to your room!”

Well this was certainly something.
Instead of thanking her fellow students the tiger simply stormed past everyone and started shouting threats.
While it was rude, Ela could hardely blame her, she had messed up and not only attracted the attention of her dorm neighbors but a professor as well, guess this was just her way of dealing with stress.
Ela walked into the room, simply grabbing the red haired young man by his shoulder and pulled him back out of the room.
"Come on let her and Profesor Copperfield sort this out."
Once outside she let go of Rouge and grabbed the broken door, it was mostly intact, simply having been blown of the hinges, so with minimal effort Ela put it back in and shut it behind her.
Then turning to the other students.
"Nothing to see here people move on please and get to your own rooms please"
Ela wasen't sure how effective this would be but atleast the door would help the professor and Nata to some privacy, she could always stand by should things get worse.

Ela wasen't sure how effective this would be but atleast the door would help the professor and Nata to some privacy, she could always stand by should things get worse.

Rogue collapsed his Dust wall and moved into the room, using his Semblance to snuff out anything. The white-haired Faunus girl answered his question in both word and action, getting up and pushing into her room, telling them all to get out. Well, the hurt pride of a student was something to be wary of for sure. These kids were fighters, constantly competing against one another and the student who blew up her own room wasn't exactly stroking her ego. She didn't want people to see, to know the mistake. She was on damage control and being aggressive about it. He had to approach this carefully. Didn't want a repeat of what happened the first day with Rouge and Fu.
She threatened Rouge, and as much as the student had given him some back talk in class, he knew what Rouge was capable of. He had no idea about the faunus... No, he did know her. She was in his class, but hardly ever participated. Usually came into the room looking worse that he did on Monday mornings, and slept through lectures despite his constant waking her. Ms. Nata Raindance, wasn't it? No, Rainwaltz. His mind flipped through the pages of his library-like mind, searching for her file.
She had been a trouble maker and a bully of sorts since she was young. Tough. Involved in beating up of a gang before her parents signed her up. Fighting ability mostly self-taught, her Semblance allowing her to take enormous beatings and keep fighting. Fights with a bat that turns into a warpick. Although there were some notes about self-defense in her background, it largely came to her on top, picking fights, and beating the crap out of her opponents. She got bullied and bullied back. She'd be a fantastic Huntress if she would just learn more skills from her betters.
From what Rouge said and what he could see, Dust caused the explosion. He didn't like students threatening each other, didn't like bullies, and it made him balls his hands into fists, and he stuck them in his pockets as he followed the pair into the room.
The room was a disaster. It would take her a while to clean up. He didn't react to her telling everybody to leave, he just stood there, slowly circling around until his eyes landed back on the Dust starter kit. The way everything was blown around, the desk was the best guess for an origin point. Rouge had been right, some Dust got mixed incorrectly and boom. He sighed and looked at her mattress. If he asked her if she needed help cleaning up, she'd reject it. So he just helped anyhow.
A hand snatched a vial of Wind Dust that survived from the kit and swept his hand through the air, fingers twirling. As the Wind Dust simply dissolved in the vial, a strong gust of wind manifested from nowhere and pushed the mattress and bedframe mostly into position, books back onto a nearby desk, and the game console safely back in front of the projector. He hoped it was alright. Though it was a considerable amount of wind, that's as much as he could do with a simple vial. He put the glass back.
"Ms. Nata, those students were worried about you and tried to figure out why they found you on the floor outside your destroyed room. They aren't nosy, they were trying to protect you." His tone was stern and as unmoving as a mountain's roots. He had no patience for those who didn't have the courtesy of others, even when their pride was hurt. His eyes glanced at the starter kit again. "I suppose you finally decided to do some of the homework I assigned you." His tone was a little softer now that Ela put the door back in its place. "Though it seems you could have benefitted from some words an instructor tried to teach you. Oh, maybe my last lecture?" He noticed the same residue that Rouge did. "Mixing Water and Combustion Dust is literally asking to discover your head and hands are missing, as I said before." He shook his head. "Let's clean up your room as much as we can."

Being told to watch his tone was certainly interesting, considering since he rarely speaks out of his monotonous voice but maybe his words hurt her more than what he usually says to people. The glass domes shined and displayed colorful shadows across the dorm room walls while the flames inside them flickered and danced until they were finally sniffed out. He brought up a hand and snapped his fingers, a loud and echoed noise originating from his fingers, causing all of the glass he has created to shatter and disperse while he looked downwards at the student. He would’ve caught her on the fact that he was trying to help out but before he could open his mouth, Rouge was grabbed and pulled away from the room by the other female, leaving the Faunus and the Professor alone.
Rouge looked at the female student who stood out in the hallway with him, a quizzical look on his face as he tries to find out if it was necessary to be vacated from the space. Though before he could say anything she has already started to take the role of a Shepard to help move the students along with their late afternoons. There was no actual way Rouge could help expedite the process so to help out with the movement and dispersing of students, Rouge pointed down the direction of the hallways and firmly said. ”Leave them be, and continue on your day.”

At first, she was expecting some kind of resistance from the boy when she was kicking him out. Perhaps some kind of retort or some snarky remarks, something that would force her to restrain herself from decking him across his face to shut him up; but surprisingly, with a little bit of help from some other girl, he quietly went on his own. A nice change of pace to see someone at least get some sense to act, allowing Nata to at least let her guard down a little. "At least you know what's good for you..." The tiger let out a faint departing word under her breath.
With the professor's little dust magic trick, much of the clean-up was done for her. Beside the fact that the floor, ceiling as well as her table were still charred black and would probably need to get scrubbed clean for a long time. Nata’s room was put back to just the way it was, albeit a little tidier than it was before the accident. Some assessment will definitely need to be done to see if her belongings survived the blast, and what did she need to replace. With that said… Now came the most obnoxious part of the night: dealing with Copperfield himself.
The white Faunus was not at all amused standing there and listening to the lousy old man lecturing to her what simple dust combinations do. As expected of the old geezer to immediately make it about him and his stupid lessons. If Nata could’ve walked out on him right now, she would take the window way out. It would be the quickest way to get out of the whole thing, but the unfortunate part was that it was pretty late into the night, the weather didn’t look so good that day, and the person scolding her was physically in her room.
“Whatever you say man. I didn’t need any of their help. I was perfectly capable of handling the situation by myself. They didn’t need to dip their nose into it but did it anyway. So if you want someone to yell at, go yell at the kids outside to go back to their room!” Anger finally boiled over and Nata snapped back at the professor. She took a more offensive stance against the man, her expression turned from a scowl to outright aggressive, gritting her teeth and bearing fangs at the Huntsman. “And don’t you go around making it sound like I’m some wild animals too incompetent to think. I know what each of these colors do, it was just an accident. Stop being such a damn hassle about it.”

He watched her with narrowed eyes as she spoke, patiently waiting for her to finish. She was starting to fit more and more of the bully profile. Some kids started off bullied, felt powerless, and bullied in return to gain that power. Sometimes they never stopped. He exhaled slowly through his nose as he walked over, found her trashcan mostly intact, and began picking up broken glass out of the carpet. Normally you would get tiny shards of glass in your fingers, but his Aura Shield would protect him from those as long as he focused on it.
Slowly he asked, "What do you think we teach here, Ms. Rainwalts? What do you think I'm here to do, what Honeydew is here to do, what you are here to do?"

Finally, with some proverbial shoving and pushing the students filling the hallway dispersed, Ela was glad that she had someone helping her with this, the red haired student who's name she still did not hear had certainly done his part, looking at him now she could vaguely remember him being a talented musician but she had never talked with him before.
With a sigh Ela leaned against the wall, turning to look towards the door to hear more shouting from inside, it seemed that Professor Copperfield also would be quiet busy by the sound of it.
She just hoped it would not impact his mood, if she remembered correctly she had class with him tomorrow.
"This years students seem to be pretty rowdy, all the usual mayhem aside there seem to be a lot more fires lately and more of well...this."
She motioned towards the closed door, with a slight smile, hoping to make some small talk with him.
