Physical Description:
Slender but strong, Saoirse neither stands out as thin nor bulky.
Her shoulder-length white hair is streaked with soft purple highlights, and she generally wears it loose, using a simple hairband to keep it out of her eyes. A swirling, almost tribal-looking pattern of purple makeup frames her eyes.
Outfit Description:
Saoirse's combat attire consists of form-fitting white armor, complete with hood, mask, skirt, and a belt of throwing knives.

Her casual day wear comprises a blouse, robe, and skirt, styled in a way to evoke images of a mage from the old stories of myth and magic.
Personality Description:
Shy and soft-spoken, Saoirse's introverted nature stands at odds with her desire to make friends. She compromises by finding somewhere to sit in a place people frequent and letting the socialization come to her.
Backstory Highlights:
Saoirse was born into a wealthy and powerful noble family and spent most of her days learning to sing, dance, curtsy, and engage in the political game of backhanded compliments. Sheltered in her family's estate, she had no idea that there was an uprising against the country's nobility until her parents' estate came under siege when she was eight.

Seeking a way to get their only daughter out of danger, Saoirse's parents made a deal with a mysterious figure known only as the Curator to hide their daughter away until the uprising was over. So she was sent away to live with him - or so they thought.

In reality, the Curator hid his charges away by quite literally turning them into the subjects of paintings. Every morning, Saoirse would leave her painting, take protocol lessons, and have dinner with the Curator before stepping back into her painting in the evening. Occasionally, she would be allowed to wander the halls of the mansion. It was on these occasions that she would ponder the other paintings on the walls - she knew she wasn't leaving her painting every day, because the other paintings were people, too - they were obviously taking turns.

Years passed in this way, Saoirse aging a day at a time while outside her painting until, when she was twelve years old, she came across a painting of someone she recognized from one of her earliest excursions - the subject was far, far older than they had been back then, but the Curator hadn't aged at all. Realizing that something was wrong, she confronted the man about the painting at dinner. The Curator proceeded to explain that not everyone in his paintings was there because they were being hidden away from those who would do them harm - some of his paintings were criminals whose fate was to be forever imprisoned in the art-lined hallways of the mansion. Why did the paintings age even if their subjects never left them? Because the Curator needed to stay alive - were he to perish, all his paintings would return to life, which would cause a catastrophe. Why was she allowed out of her painting? Because of the deal her parents had made all those years ago, and because he enjoyed speaking to her - she was a great deal smarter than most of the other subjects.

She didn't protest his argument, though she was certain he was lying - most of the paintings she'd seen had been children when she'd first seen them. She had no doubt that a few truly were criminals, but the majority of the Curator's paintings were likely children he had kidnapped or traded favors to hide away, and he was stealing their lives a day at a time.

But there was nothing she could do, so she resigned herself to living her life one day at a time, each day many years apart judging by the rate the other paintings aged, her heart aching with the desire to release all the Curator's captives.

And then one day, she found that she could. She didn't know how she knew, but she did - she could free every painting in the mansion. All it would cost is the release of a few dangerous people and the death of the man who had taken her in all those years ago to save her from her parents' fate. And it would probably knock her out cold to free so many people at once.

To Saoirse, that was no cost at all.
Occupation:
Student
Semblance Name:
Chainbreaker
Semblance Description:
Saoirse is always able to act.

When activated, Chainbreaker simultaneously disables any mundane means of restraint and permanently dispels any and all supernatural effects that would impede her ability to act of her own will. Chains are broken, movement-impeding Semblances no longer affect her, and mind-altering effects are nullified. Any Semblance dispelled in this way must be fully deactivated before it can affect her again, but will function normally on other targets. This effect only targets herself.

Alternatively, Saoirse can spend significantly more Aura to create an area effect with the same properties, freeing all entities in possession of a soul within the area indiscriminately.

In time, she may learn to break free from the restraints of time itself, creating an Eternal Moment - time will seemingly freeze for all but herself, allowing her to move freely (but not attack) for a short duration.
Weapon Name:
Grimoire Draíocht
Weapon Image:

Weapon Description:
As she fled the mansion, Saoirse snatched this book.

Bound in leather embossed with blue metal filigree, the Grimoire Draíocht's pages are made of a silvery parchment with text written in a Dust-infused ink. The words within can be activated by running a finger along them or by speaking them aloud (the latter can be done while the book is closed): coupled with a pulse of Aura to activate the latent Dust in the ink, doing so causes the words to vanish and their effect to manifest. Saoirse spent the three years between her escape and her acceptance into Beacon painstakingly cataloguing the effects of the words in the tome, and has begun to inscribe her own words on some of the now-empty pages.

The words act as a template for the effect, shaping the energy of the Dust in the ink along predetermined pathways to produce a predictable and reliable effect, such as:

- conjure a Dust projectile
- disperse Dust particles into a cloud
- place a Dust rune trap at a nearby location
- conjure weapons made of Dust
- conjure minor mundane items (rope & pitons, camping gear, etc.) with varying duration based on the amount of Dust used to inscribe the words (the larger the stroke, the longer the duration)
Other Gear:
Saoirse always carries a multitude of Dust-infused inks and writing implements so she can replenish her tome's lost words.

Additionally, she carries a few miscellaneous supplies, such as bandages.
Fighting Style:
Sei prefers fighting at range due to her unique weapon, though she's no slouch with her conjured melee weapons in a pinch.

Most of her attacks consist of a rapid series of short incantations, leading to a run-and-gun style.
Strengths:
Though her family's estate did not survive to the present day, one of their hidden vaults did - Saoirse is LOADED.
Weaknesses:
Saoirse was sheltered from the world as a child, and therefore lacks any knowledge of what the world holds beyond the fact that not all people are good.

Dislikes:

Fun Facts:
*Saoirse was technically born within the current boundaries of the Kingdom of Vale, though the kingdom didn't exist at the time and the name of the king at the time of her birth has long been lost to history.

Sei is ace/aro (though she hasn't met enough people to know that yet)!
